Presentations
Students who participate in Undergraduate Research
at the Capitol - Pennsylvania must present their research in the form of a poster. The
poster details below were adapted from the Council on Undergraduate
Research. Up to three students can present each poster.
Poster Requirements
Poster presentations are displays on poster boards.
They may not include exhibits of 3-D models, devices, or computer programs.
Presenters must bring the poster, a stiff board and an easel the
day of the event.
- Posters should be be prepared in advance and
displayed on one side of the stiff board measuring no more than
46-inches wide and 40-inches high.
- Posters must be readable from at
least three feet away.
- The presentation title should be two inches high.
- Beneath the title, the name(s) of the student author(s), faculty advisor, and
school or institution should be at least one inch high.
- Posters should be
attached to the display board using Velcro, tape or push pins.
- Posters can
be printed as a single page using programs such as Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Alternatively, pages of text, graphs and photographs can be mounted on a
colored cardboard backing.
- A border of approximately one-half inch should be
used.
- Multiple pages may be mounted on a single piece of cardboard.

contain the following:
- Title of your project
- Project collaborators
- Abstract
